Batch Script for FMB to XML and XML to FMB

Let’s say Oracle Forms is an integral part of your mission-critical backend system. Then, you’re regular tasks probably include checking properties of specific items, changing field lengths or searching for links to external items in batch.

Do you know that there’s a really helpful workaround that makes it easier to do all that?

Using BatchScript_FMB_XML, you can convert all the Forms modules in a specific directory to XML and vice versa, making it easier to run a search and replace in Forms.

This tool is a LIFESAVER for quickly changing font sizes and colors across hundreds of forms, and for adding code to forms when a new one is triggered.

Here are some tips to get you started:

Remove line feeds in the list of parameters for the executables when you copy the script. If you are FTPing this script with a device running Windows, do it in ASCII mode.

Proofread the script before using it! The script might not be executable when you first receive it since text editors, e-mail packages, and operating systems handle text formatting differently (e.g., spaces, tabs, and carriage returns). Check the script and ensure errors are corrected.

Please note: The script is relevant for Oracle Forms Developer,  9.0.X or higher. It requires write privileges in the destination directory and read privileges in the source directory.

AuraPlayer provides Oracle Forms and Oracle EBS customers with mobility, migration, automation (RPA) and testing solutions,  to expedite digital transformation of legacy systems, without operational disruptions or development.
