My First Oracle Open World Experience
I am no stranger to the Oracle world, but this year I embarked on a new journey in my Oracle career… Oracle Open World.
The first day I looked around and thought there is no way this center will be filled with people, it’s simply too big. Oracle Open World had completely took over the city of San Francisco, Oracle red was literally everywhere! But, to my surprise within fifteen minutes from when the conference center opened, it was packed and that wasn’t the only place that was packed… our booth was packed as well. I was so inspired to see so many people who came to learn technology. Even if there were not enough women!
I was so happy to see how enthusiastic people were to learn about our cutting edge technology and see our cool demos such as our voice interface to Oracle’s EBS sales order. But the most fun was watching people converse with our digital assistants themselves and then brainstorming how this could be applicable to their business back home.
Since there was a constant flow of people, the one thing I didn’t get to do much of was eat. I guess everyone was in the same boat because I made some of my best contacts just waiting in line for some food 🙂
There are a few things that I will always remember about my first conference. Number one, I never realized that our relatively small Startup had such a big impact on the conference.
I was so impressed to see our CEO, Mia Urman on the big stage presenting next to the Oracle Product Manager, of Digital Assistant and Mobile Cloud Joe Hung. The second thing was how interactive the audience was at our sessions. They acted as if we were old friends requesting more live demos of our customer case studies of mobile apps and digital assistants. The third and final thing is that although I was the “newbie” entering Oracle World I was accepted with open arms. I will forever cherish my new community of Oracle gurus, partners, and customers from Oracle Open World 2018.
