Oracle Forms to Cloud – Now a reality?

Readers of this blog know that I’ve been addressing the topic of Oracle Forms to cloud for some time now. I have even set up my own Oracle Forms Weblogic cloud last year on Amazon cloud server (forgive me, Oracle). I have been using it for quite some time now to demo Forms modernization from any location. It’s great to have the freedom to do demos without needing to carry a server in my bag.

One of the key aspects of today’s IT landscape is running applications on the cloud, and there’s no reason why your Oracle Forms should be an exception! And apparently it no longer is.

Oracle product manager Grant Ronald recently posted about the issue of modernizing your Oracle Forms investment via the cloud on his blog. He linked to a great webcast by Michael Ferrante, the new Oracle Forms PM, and Roger Vidal on running your application in the cloud with Oracle’s Weblogic Server, and what all of this means for the future of Oracle Forms.

Hopefully we will hear a lot more from Michael about this and other Oracle Forms 12c features when he joins my session “Strategies to Move Forward with Oracle Forms: What Now? What’s Next?” at Kscope13 as a guest speaker.
